A
Bed & Breakfast is a private home in which you are a welcome
guest.
However,
your hosts still have to go to the shops, visit the dentist,
get a haircut (none of which can be done on the doorstep in
this remote area) and have a life in the small community in
which they live. There will naturally be restrictions as to
entry and exit times for new arrivals & guests checking
out. Very often the only "free" time in a day for
your hosts is 2-4pm. Most people in these tiny communities
have several jobs, especially at the height of the visitor
season when resident numbers swell 3 fold.
Please arrive between 4-6pm (day of arrival) and check out
(on day of departure) by 10-10.30am. We like to spend time
familiarizing guests with their room, our facilities and get
a feel for what your objectives are with time spent here.
We like to feel our visitors are welcome guests sharing our home. This assumes a level of responsibility on the part of our guests, along with a little independence. We are available to help but not on demand 24/7 ! Once guests are settled in they can come and go as they wish; there will however, be housekeeping to attend to which necessitates accessing bedrooms and guest spaces during the day.
Communication is always very welcome. Please do ring or make
contact to discuss your requirements ahead of arrival. Pre
planning is so essential here as any supplies e.g gluten free
can be a long way away - down single track roads or only arrive
in the village once a week. Our nearest supermarket is Inverness
over one & half hours away! The more prepared we can be
for your stay the smoother life will be.
